Athena is a true rescue story. She was found on the streets of TJ in very a dire state. She was completely emaciated and scrounging through garbage trying to find something to eat. Her ears and tail appear to have been docked by a backyard breeder and done inhumanely. Hack job is probably the most accurate description. She has been over bred. But with all that said, she is truly an angel. She has the softest and most gentle disposition. She is quiet and almost seems to tiptoe around. She is good with all humans, kids, dogs and cats! She was probably purchased as a pup to be a fighting dog and due to her gentle disposition she was used as a breeding machine and when they were done with her she was tossed out on the street. Sad but not uncommon for Mexico. Our vets believe she is around 3-4 years old. Would you like to meet Athena? Do you have a space in your heart and home for this gentle soul?
